I am so excited to announce that I was chosen as a winner in the Marcus Brothers Open Call Designer contest.  It was a spur of the moment decision to enter the contest and I never dreamed that my design would be chosen.  I am grateful to Marcus Brothers for giving me a chance to share my love of quilting and designing. 

I started this blog as a jump start to my pattern business.  I had been thinking about starting a business for a while but I let fear and uncertainty stop me.  Fear is a powerful foe.  Everybody has dreams but the fear of failure stops a lot of people from pursuing them.  This contest has pushed me to take a chance and forge ahead.  If it doesn’t work out, then at least I tried and I won’t have any regrets later down the road.

Have you seen this new book?  It is called “Story Time” by Kim Gaddy of Buttons and Bees.  I had previously bought a pattern by Kim with cute little dogs so when I saw this book I knew I had to have it.  I want to make every quilt in the book but I am going to start with the turtles.  Check it out,  these quilts are adorable.
